Introduction:
The Labor and Social Protests Monitoring Center monitored 15 protests that took place during the 2nd half of May 2021.
Of these, 6 protests are labor while the other 9 are social.
The reporting period witnessed the resurface of labor protests although they were scarce in the previous months.
This is because the government did not hold its promises, so the workers of the Egyptian Iron and Steel Company in Helwan returned again to protest against the sale and liquidation of the company.
