Issued decisions
– Cairo Criminal Court adjourned, yesterday evening, the appeal filed by human rights lawyer Gamal Eid along with 12 human rights defenders challenging the travel ban issued against them. The appeal was postponed for February 15 hearing.
– The Court of Administrative Justice set February 22 to be the sentencing hearing in the appeal filed by a number of human rights defenders against the decision to extend the mandate of the investigating judge presiding over the case known in the media as “the closure of the civil society”.
– The State Security Prosecution decided to hold Mohamed al-Qassas, the deputy president of the Strong Egypt Party, in detention for 15 days pending case No. 1781 of 2019 State Security.
– Helwan University’s Legal Affairs has decided to postpone the investigation with Dr. Yehia al-Qazaz for January 12 hearing.
– Cairo Criminal Court has adjourned the trial of 12 defendants in the case known in the media as “targeting the State Security Prosecution” for September 21 hearing.
– The detention of 35 defendants in the case known in the media as “September 20” has been renewed for 15 days inside the defendants’ jail in Aswan due to inability to transfer them to Cairo.
Decisions not issued until 5 pm
– The Supreme State Security Prosecution is considering the detention renewal of lawyer Mohamed Hamdoun pending case No. 1530 of 2019 State Security, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
