Issued decisions:

  • The Supreme State Security Prosecution has renewed the detention of human rights lawyer Amr Imam and journalist Ahmed Shaker for 15 days pending Case No. 488 of 2019 State Security.
  • Cairo Criminal Court has adjourned the retrial procedures of two defendants in the case of “15 May district violence incidents following the MB’s sit-in dispersal” for the hearing of February 8, to hear the statements of witnesses.
  • The Supreme State Security Prosecution has renewed the detention of human rights activist Sameh Seoudi for 15 days pending Case No. 1338 of 2019 State Security, also known as “September 20 incidents”.
  • The Supreme State Security Prosecution has renewed the detention of student Mahmoud Mohamed for 15 days pending Case No. 1475 of 2019 State Security.
  • The Court of Administrative Justice has accepted the lawsuit filed by a citizen demanding to be compensated for the period he had been detained, after suspecting and arresting him while he was passing by Nasr City district for the similarity of his name to someone who was criminally convicted. The court accordingly obliged the Ministry of the Interior to compensate him with an amount of EGP 100,000.
