Issued Decisions:

– The Court of Cassation rejected the appeals submitted by the defendants in the case known as “insulting the judiciary”, and upheld the Cairo Criminal Court’s decision to sentence 18 defendants to 3 years in prison and 5 others to a fine of LE30, 000 while obliging each of them to pay LE 1 million as civil compensation to the head of the Judges Club.

– The Supreme State Security Prosecution ordered the detention renewal of satirical blogger Islam al-Refaei AKA “Khorm” for 15 days pending investigations into case No. 441 of 2018 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of 32 defendants in the case known as “Helwan’s Microbus” for the November 12 hearing.

– Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the retrial procedures of 8 defendants in the case known as “Nasr City violent incidents” for the October 29 hearing.

– The Military Court adjourned the trial of 304 defendants in the case known as “Assistant Public Prosecutor assassination attempt” for the October 22 hearing.

– Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the retrial procedures of 7 defendants in the case known as “the arson of Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Commerce” for the October 29 hearing.

– Cairo Criminal Court has considered the trial of 22 defendants in the case known in the media as “harming the national economy”, but hasn’t reached a decision yet.
