Decisions not issued until 4 PM
Cairo Criminal Court is presiding over the trial of 24 defendants in the case known in media as “Spying for Hamas” case, and hasn’t yet reached a decision.
Issued decisions
– Yesterday night, the Supreme State Security Prosecution ordered the detention renewal of journalist Mohamed Ahmed Ezz for 15 days pending investigation in case No. 205 of 2018 State security.
– State Security Prosecution also ruled yesterday to renew the detention of activist Hazem Abdelazim for 15 days pending investigations into the case No. 735 of 2018 State Security.
– The incarceration of the two journalists Mohamed Abo Zeid and Mo’men Hassan and blogger Wael Abass is also ordered by State Security Prosecution to be renewed for 15 days pending investigations in case No. 441 of 2018 State Security.
– Al-Khosos Prosecution decided to extend the imprisonment of writer Mahmoud Imam for 15 days pending investigations conducted with him in the case No. 1959 of 2018 Al-Khosos Administrative.
– Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of 28 defendants in the case publicly known as “breaching the Eastern borders” to the August 5 hearing.
– Court of Cassation set the December 8 hearing to consider the appeals filed by defendants accused in “Wagdi Ghoneim” case to challenge the death and life imprisonment rulings handed down against them.
